Materials Provided By Student:
  • Carbine rifle chambered in .223/5.56, or 300 Blackout gas or piston operated. No fully auto rifles will be used. Iron sights or a red dot optic. No high powered optics will be used. Rifles will be sighted in at 50 yds. If you show up with high powered optics you will be asked to remove the optic and shoot with your iron sights.
  • A pistol that you carry concealed and have qualified with in the Virtual Target Concealed Carry 2 pistol course.  A quality holster that fits the make and model of your pistol. Only strong side belt holsters will be allowed on the range day. (No shoulder holsters, cross draw holsters, or small of the back(SOB) holsters.  Paddle holsters are fine as long as you wear a belt with them. The holster must keep its shape when you remove the pistol, so you can re-holster without holding the holster open with your support hand.
  • At least 4 Carbine/AR magazines along with a magazine pouch. If you do not have a magazine pouch for your Carbine/AR mags make sure you wear 511 style pants with multiple pockets or a tach vest. A good strong belt (belt needs to be wide and strong enough to support the pistol, holster, and Carbine/AR mags).
  • .223/5.56, 300 blackout dummy rounds/snap caps, hearing protection (Ear muffs or earplugs or both). Eye protection (Sunglasses are fine/ if it is not sunny out, you might want to have a pair of clear glasses. If you wear prescription glasses those will do fine). 300 rounds of .223/5.56 or 300 blackout ammunition, 50 rounds of pistol ammunition.

The Blackhawk Holster with the index finger release will not be used in the classroom, range or on duty.

Important Notice: Firearms must be kept in a case until instructed otherwise and no ammunition will be allowed in the classroom. Please leave ammunition in your vehicle until you are instructed to retrieve it for ‘live fire’ exercises.
